Speakers & Events

PLEASE NOTE:

The following information is from the 2010 Milwaukee Boat Show.

America's Boating Course

A special one day Boating Safety Certification Course will be held on Saturday, January 23 at the Wisconsin Expo Center.  Representatives of the U.S. Power Squadron will conduct this special one-day class and those that pass will receive a certification of completion.  All boaters should carry this certificate.  The knowledge gained could save you and your family’s life (at least it may reduce your insurance premiums).

The certificate is REQUIRED of all persons who were born after January 1, 1989 and are at least 12 years old in order to operate a boat without an adult on board.

The certificate is REQUIRED by all persons born on or after January 1, 1989 and are at least 16 years old or older to operate a PWC or motorboat even if accompanied by a properly certified boating certificate holder.

This is a great opportunity to prepare for safe summer fun in ONE day!

America's Boating Course Covers:  Boat Types & Terms; Boat Registration & Equipment; Boating Regulations & Safe Operation; Boat Handling & Seamanship; Aids to Navigation; Navigation Rules; Knots, Bends & Hitches; Adverse Conditions & Emergencies; and Introduction to Charts & Piloting
