The Magic Returns at the 2010 Gala Preview
for the Michigan International Auto Show
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich – It will be a magical night – the Charity Gala Preview for the 12th Annual Michigan International Auto Show. From 6:30-10 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, nearly 2000 guests will don formal attire for a night on the town at this premier social celebration, to benefit the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Held less than 24 hours before the official opening of the Auto Show, the event is hosted by the Grand Rapids Press and Citadel Broadcasting, with WOOD TV-8 and WOTV-4 broadcasting live from 7-8pm.
The Gala provides guests the exclusive opportunity to preview the latest automobiles, trucks, vans, sedans and sports cars. They’re also invited to browse through the Million Dollar Motorway (where all vehicles are priced at a minimum of $100,000) including the latest from Bentley, Aston Martin, Maserati, Porsche and Land Rover, among others. Attendees should also check out the featured display from Gilmore Car Museum, which this year includes the Dale Earnhardt Jr. #8 racecar and actor Nicholas Cage’s Ferrari.
In addition, guests are treated to an impressive grazing menu prepared by the culinary team at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, along with special wine pairings from three of Michigan’s award-winning wineries. Musical entertainment this year includes Hark Up/Rapid City Swing Band, which will perform from 7-8pm in the back of Hall B.
A featured part of the evening is the Silent Auction, which includes a variety of items up for bid including get-away packages, autographed memorabilia, dinner packages and so much more. Tickets will also be available at the Gala for the raffle car – a 2010 Chevy Camaro. Tickets are $50 each and the drawing will be held at 4pm on Sunday, February 7 at the Auto Show.
Net proceeds from this $150 per person “black-tie optional” event benefit the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Foundation. Nearly 2000 guests are expected to attend, making it the largest annual Gala event in Grand Rapids.
Tickets for this celebratory night may be purchased in advance online at www.spectrum-health.org/autoshowgala or by calling 616-391-9125.
